Joseph (Joe) is young in his litigation career, but brings with him nearly a decade of experience as a registered nurse. In that field, he found his voice as an advocate within the forensic mental health system, ensuring that the needs of clients were met with empathy and care. He honed a client-centred approach to solving problems through his experience as a frontline nurse. He also brings with him several years of progressive leadership skills in hospital management that he hopes will aid his legal practice.

With this background, Joe brings an inherent interest in professional liability, medical malpractice, motor vehicle accident matters and occupier’s liability. His background is well suited to deal with medical matters, broadly. No hand-written records are ever too hard to read, and no documents too dense to distill into a succinct opinion. In addition, he developed an interest in subrogation during his articles at McCague Borlack LLP and aims to build a practice in this field.

Joe has appeared before Small Claims Court and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and has assisted in matters before the License Appeal Tribunal. He prides himself on being an attentive, candid, and efficient counsel.

In his spare time, Joe can be found adding to his sons’ Hotwheels collection and teaching his sons everything he knows about fishing and camping.
