Matthew is a graduate of the University of Ottawa’s English Common Law Program, where he was an active participant in moots and negotiation competitions while also serving as a peer mentor to first-year students. Matthew graduated cum laude and specialized in dispute resolution because of his interest in negotiation, mediation, and litigation.
Prior to law school, Matthew double-majored in history and political science at McGill University.
Matthew was born and raised in Montreal and is fluent in both French and English.
Outside of academics, Matthew enjoys playing several sports, including hockey, baseball, soccer, golf, and football. While in law school, he played on the University of Ottawa’s Law School Intramural hockey, volleyball, and basketball teams. Before his career in law, Matthew was a hockey referee, travelling all over Quebec to referee games at all levels. During the summer, Matthew enjoys traveling to play on different golf courses. His recent golf trips included courses in Scotland, California, and Prince Edward Island. Matthew's other interests include playing video and board games with friends and going for walks around the city.
