Darwish is a seasoned litigator with substantial experience representing institutional clients in complex insurance defence matters. His practice focuses on insurance defence, subrogation, coverage disputes, and property damage claims. Darwish is highly regarded for his ability to resolve matters efficiently while achieving favourable outcomes.
Before joining McCague Borlack LLP, Darwish practiced at a boutique litigation firm and served as in-house counsel for one of Canada’s largest insurers. He has successfully appeared before numerous adjudicative bodies, including the Superior Court of Justice, the Licensing and Appeals Tribunal, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal. His in-house experience provides him with a pragmatic understanding of risk management and operational objectives, which he brings to every client file.
Outside of his legal practice, Darwish has demonstrated a commitment to his community. He has served as a Board Member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of London and Area, the Western Fair Association, and has been involved in coaching youth sports.
When not in the office or volunteering, you can likely find Darwish passionately cheering on the Blue Jays and/or Maple Leafs or working on his short game.
